Artificial Intelligence & Applied Machine Learning
At Herdsman Technologies, artificial intelligence isn’t a buzzword — it’s a toolkit for solving real human problems. Our AI systems are designed to augment care, enhance safety, and bring context-aware intelligence into everyday environments.
One of our key initiatives is a vision-based identification system that assists people with acquired brain injuries. Using facial-recognition models optimised for accuracy and low-power performance, the system identifies visitors, displays relevant information, and integrates seamlessly with home-automation and notification networks.
We also develop large-scale transcription and analysis pipelines for recorded speech. Built on Azure OpenAI, Whisper, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) frameworks, these systems process thousands of hours of audio to extract insights, identify speakers, and make information accessible through natural-language queries.
Our AI work bridges edge computing and cloud infrastructure — deploying optimised models on devices like ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and Coral TPU, while orchestrating large-scale analytics and vector search in Azure. Each project focuses on transparency, interpretability, and practical impact.
